At Juntos Farm, we are committed to promoting sustainable and regenerative agriculture. If you are a farmer, we invite you to participate in a practical two-day course from 3-4 October, where we will discuss Regenerative Agriculture through local varieties and their genetic improvement.
Local Varieties
Led by: Antonio Perdomo Molina & Adrián Diaz
Guided by Antonio Perdomo Molina, researcher and associate professor at the University of La Laguna, the first day will explore the importance of local varieties in traditional agroecosystems. The session will cover key techniques for seed collection, extraction, and conservation. The theoretical knowledge provided by Antonio will be complemented in the practical phase, thanks to the support of Adrián Díaz, one of our agronomists. This will ensure you acquire practical skills to conserve and enhance the genetic diversity of your crops.
Hybrid Breeding
Led by: Martin Bielich
The second day will focus on hybrid improvement, where you will learn how to combine traits from different plant varieties to create more resilient and productive crops. Martín Bielich, in addition to being the farm manager, is an agronomist and expert in the genetic improvement of sorghum. He will guide you through practical techniques such as crossbreeding and maintaining pure lines, allowing you to adapt your agricultural practices to face the challenges of climate change.
